The third hunger strike is suspended; major demands remain unmet. The baton is passed to us, the prisoners’ outside activist supporters. In Oakland on 9/26/13 there will be a hearing for the federal class action lawsuit that represents Pelican Bay prisoners. The suit challenges the CDCR’s use of long-term solitary confinement, and is part of the legal strategy being pursued alongside the prisoner hunger strikes.
