On behalf of the NLG hotline volunteers we have this PSA
As the NLG explained here, the hotline (415-285-1011) currently cannot receive calls from anyone but those in jail in the Bay Area. Because of this they’ve set up an email address for supporters to get in touch. It is:
Please email the above address in these instances:
-If you have information, such as legal name or date of birth, of someone who was arrested at a demonstration and is currently in custody.
-If you want to offer a ride to folks being released from jail in the middle of the night
-If you were arrested or someone you care about is in custody and you want to know what comes next in the process of booking, bailing, court, getting released, etc.
And also very important!:
-If you were arrested at a demonstration and are now out of custody. It is important that arrestees who are no longer in jail get in touch with the NLG so they have your contact information and know when your next court date is. If NLG does not have contact information or your court date and charges, they cannot mobilize legal support for you.
When you send an email please leave your number and some sort of indication that you are not a fascist.
